The Band
Assassin first joined up about 15 years ago as a result of guitarist Michael Lamarche, lead vocalist Tony LiVolsi and drummer
Al Rich jamming at Louie's house. They started out as a cover band and played clubs such as The Button South and Rosebud's. they
recorded an original 8 song CD titled "You Can Run" which got airplay on local stations such as Zeta4 fm radio. the band added
Tommy DiStefano who had recorded keys and backround vocals on the original cd and Mat Phillips on bass n the band opened
shows for Pat Travers, Sammy Hagar and played many Zeta4 Social on the Intercoastal parties.
After a 7 year break, Bobbi, Michael's wife suggested he call Tony and like Forest Gump says, it was like peas and
carrots all over again...the guys decided to try a new name MidLife Crisis..this version of the group had some different musicians,
but everywhere they played, upon seeing Tony and Michael, the club owner would go "hey Assassin's back" Tommy
and Mat soon rejoined and now the ball is rollin' again with all five original members. Assasin is known for their medleys,
one features 6 zep tunes strung together complete with a violin bow solo ala Jimmy Page. As musisians from back
in the day are settling into the blues mode, Assassin's classic and rock playlist is more popular than ever and fun is prority
one ...Assassin being local South Florida dudes are very concerned with the protection of our endagered species and Florida's
wetlands..they will headline the Rock for the Wetlands II benefit to be held at Korrigan's Irish Pub 2301 W. Sample Rd. Pompano
Bch on Sunday July 19 from 2pm till 6pm...they are also booked at Roxie's at 4800 W. Hillsboro Coconut Creek Saturday evening
July 11. R u ready to be Assasinated?
